Welcome to the first episode of The Healthy Mindset Podcast! In this short-14-minute episode, I explain my vision for the podcast and what listeners can expect. I begin by summarizing why I am so passionate about exploring the connection between mindset and health.
Each episode will include an expert interview in a different area that affects health and well being (nutrition, exercise, self-care, stress management etc.). At the beginning of each show, I will encourage my guest to pinpoint the mental frameworks he or she believes help and hinder progress. My belief is that many of the common assumptions people make can keep them stuck, while other assumptions work as a springboard for success. I will do this by reciting this quote from The Art of Possibility:
Many circumstances that seem to block us in our daily lives may only appear to do so based on a framework of assumptions we carry with us. Draw a different frame around the same set of circumstances and new pathways come into view.
We will spend most of the show discussing the science, tips, and key information that support optimal ways of approaching health. We will move from thinking, to feeling, to doing, always approaching the topic from a mindset-angle first. My hope is that you leave each show saying “I never thought of X that way before.”
The Healthy Mindset Podcast will have a family focus, translating the information to both raising healthy children (prevention) and creating effective change in adults. Each episode will bring you and those you love one step closer to healthy habits that are stress-free, do-able, and a rewarding part of everyday life.
